Do you want to quickly learn how to play lead guitar, or learn how to play lead better? I have been playing lead guitar professionally for over 40 years. Let me take what I have learned and quickly show you some tricks of the trade that I have learned, and some that I have developed myself, that will greatly improve your lead guitar playing, and hopefully will teach you how to teach yourself. I can show you how music theory is applied to the guitar. You do not have to be a great “musician”, or even have to be able to read music in order to learn how to shred some lead guitar, so do not let the words “music theory” scare you. I do not read music that well at all, and I do not consider myself a “musician”, and my lessons will not necessarily make you a musician. I am a “guitar player” that knows how to play music pretty well, and my lessons WILL make you a better lead guitar player.
I will show you some basic picking/fretting exercises that many guitarist swear by. These exercises are very boring, probably slightly painful(no pain, no gain), and will do nothing to help you become a great musician. But I assure you, they will make you a better lead guitar player by improving your dexterity, getting your pick hand to work tightly in sync with your fret hand, which will greatly improve the overall clarity and tone of your lead playing. These exercises will also improve your fret hand/finger strength and stamina.
I will also show you exercises that I myself have developed. These exercises are based on actual, original lead guitar lines that I have written and like the previous exercises, will improve your overall dexterity, picking and fretting accuracy, strength and stamina. But these exercises will also use music theory to show you how to make the fret hand movements that are necessary in order to be able to move up, down, and all over the fretboard for that matter, and to stay in key while doing it. When it is put out in front of you and you actually see it, the fretboard will completely open up for you, and that is a beautiful thing!
I am not interested in “cutting heads” with anyone so please do not contact me if that’s your intention. But if you are interested in improving your lead guitar playing, feel free to contact me anytime. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you very so much!!!
